Sooner Metcon
Sooner Movement
Our flagship functional fitness program, Sooner Metcon combines a variety of disciplines, including elements of CrossFit, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), circuit training, as well as many conventional strength and conditioning protocols. It is designed to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible. It is not a specialized fitness program but a deliberate attempt to optimize performance across ten recognized physical competencies (Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy).
Metcon minus the barbell, Sooner Movement offers a slightly different take emphasizing cardiovascular endurance, mobility, technique, and fat burning. Many of the same elements of our MetCon programming are present, to include strength training and technique work, but without as much focus on integration of the barbell. The goal of Sooner Movement is to improve general physical preparedness and body composition by developing balance, flexibility, stamina, and strength. These tend to be up-tempo, cardio-intensive classes that are great for beginners as well as cardio-junkies.
